Welcome to Choir Camp!

The Toronto Diocesan Choir Camp is now sponsoring FREE single day choral workshop events.

Let’s get together to celebrate choral music at St. Olave’s, Swansea!

Choir camp alumni, and singers throughout the Diocese of any age or voicing (SATB) are invited to join us for a Choir Camp Music Day at St. Olave’s, Swansea on Saturday May 2nd, 9:00am-4:30pm This is an intergenerational event and families are most welcome!

Our day will feature choral singing workshops with our clinician Nicholas Nicolaidis. Nicholas is an award- winning conductor, professional tenor, and respected vocal pedagogue based in Toronto. We will also enjoy some outdoor fellowship activities and a catered lunch. We will end our time together with a Service of Thanksgiving featuring choral music from our workshops.

Choir Camp Music Day Itinerary & Registration Information!

9:00-9:30am Welcome, check in, and your morning coffee.

9:45-11:15 Vocal heath and techniques workshop with Nicholas Nicolaidis.

11:15-12:00 Outdoor fellowship activity.

12:00-12:45pm Catered lunch & social time.

1:00-2:30pm Exploring Choral Music: Anglican Chant, Traditional Repertoire and Spirituals with Nicholas Nicolaidis.

2:30-3:00pm Afternoon snack break.

3:00-4:00pm Exploring Choral Music continued.

4:00-4:30pm Choral Service of Thanksgiving.

Include: your name, phone number, parental contact (name, email, phone) if under 16, age & voice range, parish if applicable, alumni or new chorister, any dietary restrictions or food allergies. Those under 16 attending without a parent will be asked to fill out a release form.

Meet our clinician!

Nicholas Nicolaidis is an award-winning conductor, professional tenor, and respected vocal pedagogue based in Toronto. He serves as Assistant Conductor of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and is the co-founder and musical director of the Trinity Bach Project, where he brings scholarly insight and vibrant musicianship to Bach’s choral works.

A graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand (BMus, Vocal Performance) with further studies in London, Nicholas is also a professional tenor with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and Elora Singers, frequently appearing in major choral repertoire including Bach’s Passions and the great oratorio works.

In addition to maintaining a thriving private voice studio, he teaches vocal health and technique at Royal St George’s College and St Michael’s Choir School. Known for his clarity, energy, and technical precision, Nicholas equips singers with the tools to perform with confidence, stylistic understanding, and expressive freedom.
